Just a few words to thank you all for the very special moment that you created at the Liverpool Mutual Homes Community Event. Everyone really enjoyed it and it made such a difference to the event. I know that we will be booking the Drum Planet again sometime in the future for a larger event. My sincere thanks to you Alphonse and your team. Absolutely amazing !!!

KNDC's Chief ExecutiveDear Drum Planet,
On behalf of Liverpool Culture Company, commissioners of ‘The Big Conversation’, I would like to thank you for the valuable part you played in making the event at Martin’s Bank on 5th December ’08 so successful. It really was a team effort and without everyone’s contributions we would not have created the magic that seemed to fill the beautiful venue on Friday. We have received excellent feedback already and are thrilled to report many people seem keen to keep the momentum going and have suggested similar future events focusing on specific subject areas.
We now look forward to adding to the forthcoming State of the Art report, feeding in from the conversations that were captured on the table cloths from the Big Conversation. This has been a great event to celebrate the end of ’08 and all that we have accomplished in creative health and well-being and the creative communities participation programme over the past few years. Thank you again for your continued enthusiasm and support.
Warmest wishes,
Julie Hanna

COMMENTS ON THE DRUM PLANET MUSIC SESSION“It was great fun. I got into the groove.”
“Could we not give them an RSC drum for a bit of advertising?”
“I thought the whole experience was great and would gladly repeat it. I enjoyed the drumming most but the plastic tubes gave us the opportunity to create music together – as a team or orchestra.”
“Given the time we had, I think we covered quite a lot, but with more time, or perhaps a repeat session, maybe we could have worked on a simple tune, one that required each section of coloured tubes to “play” in response to Alphonse’s musical direction.
“The finale with the countdown to the Stop – then YES, was brilliant – even Mr Meadows repeated this later.”
“A most unusual and entertaining activity, much appreciated.”
“I found the music session very enjoyable. The drumming helped to relax and uplift everyone ready for the presentations and activities that followed.”
“I can't fault the way the music session was run only that it would have been even better if we had been given more time to develop more rhythms and beats.”
“All the people I have spoken to enjoyed the session – even the ones who didn’t participate. It is very difficult to not get caught up with the infectious personality Alphonse brought to the fore even if you are not joining in. I think it was pitched about right (any more advanced and several novices like me would be struggling) and was a great success.”
“If I had a criticism, it was that the link to teamwork was not explained. Initially I thought this should have been made before it started, but at the end may well be more effective.”
“As far as I am concerned, it was different and conditioned people for a relaxing day. The fact that we were doing something creative in a relaxed atmosphere was to some extent a de-stressed.”
“It was most of all fun.”
